We are pleased to now be delivering the brand new SEQ Level 2 in Teaching Swimming qualification which is a clear path to becoming a swimming teacher.
This new qualification will equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to start your role as a swimming teacher without the needing to complete the Level 1 Swimming Assistant qualification first.
This qualification has been officially endorsed by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) as meeting the professional standard for the role of a Swimming Teacher. Successful completion provides 10 CIMSPA CPD points, ensuring your training meets the highest industry standards.
You’ll learn through 50 hours of training, 38 of which are guided by expert educators to offer structured, supportive and empowering development, through real-time feedback, progressive steps, and a gradual shift to independence for real-world teaching success.
Your learning will blend essential theory with practical teaching in live lessons that are supported by licensed Swim England educators and new assessment technology, helping you become the best possible teacher you can be.

Unit 1: How to deliver swimming lessons within a safe environment
Unit 2: Understand the knowledge required for teaching swimming
Unit 3: The role of a Swimming Teacher
Unit 4: Plan swimming lessons
Unit 5: Deliver & evaluate swimming lessons
